Pumpkin Spice Cupcakes

Thursday, November 27, 2014
In honor of Thanksgiving, I made some pumpkin spice cupcakes topped with cream cheese frosting. They were going to be cinnamon sugar cream cheese frosted but hey, life happened and I somehow ran out of cinnamon before I could make the frosting.  These are still delicious but I can't help but wonder if they would have been insanely amazing with the cinnamon.

Don't worry, I am making a pumpkin cake for a one year old tomorrow and will be picking up cinnamon just in time!  I'll get to taste the combo after all.

This cupcake is also offered on my menu.  They are moist, spiced, and not overly pumpkin flavored.

I love these cupcakes wrappers.  I was saving them for a boy birthday party or a masculine cake order, but what the heck.  They look great with pumpkin cupcakes.

A few of the cupcakes got topped with raspberries.  I am obsessed with raspberries on top of cupcakes.  There is always a joke in the bakeshop about the raspberry or half raspberry garnish being someones personal signature.  I just love it!

Swirls of cream cheese frosting with just a hint of cinnamon. ( I had enough to see TINY specks.)

Since these are for Thanksgiving, I decided to make some chocolate cupcake toppers to spice them up a little.  They look more polished and ready to accompany a feast of turkey, mashed potatoes, and cranberry sauce.

Can you eat just one?
